BIO
This rock Goddess from British Columbia, Canada has definitely done things her own way, and with the release of her third album, MONSTERS, singer/songwriter Robin Brock continues to do just that.
MONSTERS, produced and co-written by Robin’s long time co-writer, hit songmeister John Capek, is graced with the brilliant guitar work of Rik Emmett, Danny Jacob and Justin Abedin.
“MONSTERS is about rising from the ashes despite what happens in your life. Although the songs are my experiences, they still have universal themes that everyone can relate to. It’s my evolution as a person and as an artist.” Robin says about the project, recorded in Toronto. “This album rocks. It’s got loads of rippin’ guitars, flowing melodies, and plenty of Robin Brock attitude, but musically, it’s got a modern twist.”
Robin teamed up with TSM Promotions in the UK for the MONSTERS release, and is currently playlisted on many different stations throughout Europe and the UK, and once again Robin Brock, thanks to MONSTERS, is being welcomed with open arms. The title track is featured in an American Zombie Comedy by In Play Films.
It’s apparent who influences this self-proclaimed Kiss Freak musically, as she’s been described as a mix of Kiss, Def Leppard, Shania Twain, Heart and Pat Benatar. But without a doubt, Robin has a voice and style that‘s all her own.
Admiration for Benatar was a catalyst for getting Keith Olsen to produce her second album Hidden Power, a collection of guitar driven, heavily melodic rock songs, with Tim Pierce (guitars), Jeff Pilson (bass), and James Kottak (drums). “Recording with Keith and the guys was incredible. Every day when I was in the studio I hoped just a little bit of their talent would rub off on me. I learned so much from them all; the multitude of expertise and skill was enormous, and also to have the chance to write with Randy Bachman, not one, but three songs, was pretty damn cool too.”
Blame It On Rock and Roll, Robin’s debut album, was produced and co-written by John Capek. It’s pure classic rock at its very best. Danny Jacob (guitars), Steve Webster (bass), Jorn Andersen (drums), and John Capek (keyboards), were the musicians that made that a reality. “Recording my first album was a dream come true. I couldn’t have asked for a better band to help the songs John and I created come alive.”
Robin released Blame It On Rock and Roll in Canada, on her Rock Empire label, and with the national airplay, the acclaim and the numerous songwriting awards it received, it got the attention of A2 Records in the UK.
A2 introduced Robin to Europe and the UK, and the European/UK Rock, Metal and Classic Rock communities fell in love with Robin and her music, voting her #2 Female Vocalist and #1 International Artist in UK Rock and Metal Magazine Powerplay. She has been featured in, reviewed in, on the cover or covermount of many of these European/UK magazines and webzines, and has had extensive radio play throughout Europe and the UK.
The release of Hidden Power compounded on that, and made both albums Album of the Week on British Armed Forces Radio.
With the success of both albums, Robin has been able to perform in Canada, Romania, Australia, USA, and the UK.
Robin recently signed with Star Search Media in Korea, for licensing of her first two albums in Japan, Korea, and China. A Canadian licensing company, Octobertunes, took her on board also. We Salute Our Heroes and Hevy D Music re-introduce Robin to Canada, and will help gear up for MONSTERS’ North American release.
Since her last album, Robin has forayed herself into a new venue – House Concerts. “Being in such intimate quarters with an audience and being able to talk about what inspired my songs to a smaller audience without hiding behind a band was intimidating at first. But I realize how the industry has drastically changed since I released and toured with my first two albums, and it’s one more way to bring my music to my fans and make new ones. It’s pretty cool. “
Whether she's rocking out with a full band, blasting the crowd with the onslaught of guitars and pounding rhythm section and her magickal presence, or if it’s just her and her guitar in an intimate setting, Robin casts her spell.
Robin Brock refuses to lip-sync.
